The ancient holiday of Yule has been adapted, adopted, and changed over the course of many centuries. However, even in its most drastic alterations the inspiration of Yule can still be observed in many aspects. Something as mundane as Christmas dinner is actually inspired from the great feasts during Yule. Originally, it was celebrated as a festival for the Winter Solstice that lasted multiple days, and different rituals and traditions were used to bring good fortune and fertile crops into the upcoming year.
